This is a busy time of the year for us in the garden. Karen and I remove all the dying summer vegetables, weed, dig the soil, add manure, and let the soil rest. We start digging holes for planting shrubs and trees in November. We remove dead limbs and trees.
Karen and I have a number of home improvement and home repair projects scheduled for the next couple of months.
I have a number of major writing projects at work.
My home office computer has been giving me many problems.
Consequently ... I will be taking a break from posting to my Green Paths and Cloud Hands blogs.
Best wishes to all for a great autumn season,
Mike

Sometimes, I use the same post, or close to the same post, with different post titles, on both the Cloud Hands and Green Paths blogs. There is only so much time available for writing posts.
Most of my research and writing efforts go into my wepages. Lately, for example, I have been working on the Five Animal Frolics webpages.
My popular Spirit of Gardening website is now back online.
The website was hacked three times: November 2008, January 2009, and May 2009. The hackers also were using the old PHP setup for Word Press to phish. The hackers ruined my Green Way Blog and I lost three years of posts in Word Press. My web host suspended all access, closed my email and closed my FTP access. After numerous phone calls we were able to get back on line with some semblance of order.
In some years, this website has served 2.5 million webpages to readers all around the world.

In past years, I have maintained a number of blogs on different topics. Cloud Hands delt with taijiquan, qigong, yoga, and gardening and was hosted on Blogger. The Green Way Blog , hosed on Word Press on my webserver, included all former topics and a hodgepodge more, and will be my only daily post blog in 2009. Starting on February 14, 2009, I will only post daily to my Green Way Blog, which is now hosted by TypePad.
Most of my writing and research is located on individual webpages or PDF files that are published by Green Way Research. These webpages are easily found in the long list of links to webpages in the left sidebar of this Green Way Blog post you are reading now. The right sidebar features outside links to a variety of websites, webpages, video, blogs, wikis, etc.
Unfortunately, all my Word Press blog posts to my old Word Press formatted Green Way Blog from 2005 until 2008 were lost in a crash of the Word Press software at my ISP Blue Host in December 2008. My Green Way Blog and the Spirit of Gardening homepage were replaced by HaCKer Assain substitute webpages, and the Correct Files just disappeared for URL access because of some hackers dislike of others. Three years of Word Press formatted blog posts - gone. However, I've done regular backups of content on CDs.
Folks at Word Press have some evidence that the vandal hackers worked out of Palestine and Saudi Arabia. For all we really know, I could have been chosen by a clever and mischievous atheist Word Press hacker from Fort Bragg, California, or a prankster nerd from Hong Kong, China. WtF, who knows? I hope it was a good looking half-clothed woman smoking a joint at her computer in India hacking some ISP webhost in Utah just because she might also be a nasty Top. I favor fantasizing about the Lady in India.
The Spirit of Gardening was HACKED!!!??? Kind of a surprise to me. Pretty much mom and pop stuff on that old website with an old gardener's ruminations, mediocre scholarship, lengthy displays of a bibliomaniacs compulsions, and all presented on blander than bland vanilla webpages. Quite popular with English readers, despite its ho-hum bumpkin .html appearances and folksy roots. Unquestionably a storehouse of interesting quotations. See what you think, for example, look at Seeing.
A stoic like Senecca would extoll us to face all obstacles and failures, with manly honor, courage, toughness, reason, resilence, will, and always honoring the Providence of Fortuna who brings bounties and woes and sure death. Buck Up, Get Tough, Forge Ahead, God Willing, Till the End!
An ordinary old fellow like me laughs, says "tommorrow", then he uses some intelligence and reasoning, and then creates something new. Publishing The Spirit of Gardening and The Green Way Blog will continue tommorrow morning.
